“Cool opponents”, missing results: Voss
That the German national team at the start of the EM year 2022 at the Arnold Clark Cup equal to ten players, including supports such as Captain Alexandra Popp (VfL Wolfsburg), Marina Hegering (FC Bayern Munich), playmaker Dzsenifer Marozsan (Olympique Lyon) or Melanie Leupolz (FC Chelsea) had missed Martina Voss-Tecklenburg briefly mentioned.
Nevertheless, the Federal Trainer had hoped for other results at the four-nation tournament. There was a 1: 1 against Spain, a 0: 1 against Canada and now the 1: 3 against England. The game against the Britishes revealed defensive weaknesses, the German back team did not look good at all three counterparties. First of all, the internal defenders Jana Feldkamp and Sophia Kleinherne (each Bayern Munich-grade 5) and the right-to-etholizer Maximiliane Rall (4.5) were too easy to play with the goals.
Low forward went forward, there was a lack of infirm ideas. Longer phases in which the English women have been consistently at risk, there was no. Deals on the assembly line already not at all. So it was reserved Lina Magull’s foot, with a directly transformed free-kick shortly before the break at least the interim 1: 1 – ultimately the hits had whether the 1: 3 defeat but only had more statistical value.
Voss-Tecklenburg: “Giant experience”
The Federal Trainer did not want to criticize their replacement team in ZDF interview, but they considered the biggest whole thing: “We assume that we had three cool opponents.” The whole failures would have been the same, yet the games were in their eyes in large parts at eye level. All in all, a “huge experience” for her young team. “We had many young players here, who have certainly learned a lot.”
For Voss Tecklenburg, however, it was clear that there is still plenty of work to do: “We know what we have to do to the em.” It needs other results in the European Championship in the summer, which in England rises between 6 and 31 July 2022, understand other results, understand themselves.
“We will process the topics we have,” said Voss-Tecklenburg in the hope that their players will grow to the experience now made. For the European Championship, the national trainer directly presented the march route: “We want to play a good role and we want to progress in the group. We are optimistic about our goal.”
