Although the Launch of Battlefield 2042 was bumped and the developers at DICE with current and upcoming updates must first take care of the elimination of various construction sites, at least the numbers seem to vote. At the official EA website, those responsible speak that almost twice as many players are playing Battlefield 2042 when it was the case at a comparable time at Battlefield 5.
Launch made? Okay, I’m gone!
Nevertheless, it seems to be turbulent behind the scenes from DICE. Industry insider Tom Henderson reports that Nazi Mesmer, his sign Head of Design for the Franchises Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront, should have submitted his termination shortly after the launch of Battlefield 2042.
King’s former studio director has only been a head of design since 2019 and coordinated a team of more than 80 creatives that worked before Battlefield 2042 (now €54.99) also worked on Battlefield 5 and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 worked. In an email to the workforce Nazi Mesmer writes that he had received an offer from another company he could not knock out. The offer is obviously a little while, but he wanted to bring Battlefield 2042 live before he dares the step.
Restart at DICE?
In addition to his article, Tom Henderson published some tweets in which he reports that the staff carousel could continue to be in a hurry at DICE in the near future. Apparently, you want to set numerous new people who should replace parts of the existing staff. At least Henderson talks about that we should soon hear from other outlets.
Incidentally, Henderson had another DICE rumor in the luggage before a few days ago: Apparently, the responsible persons at EA have rejected a pitch for Star Wars: Battlefront 3, because the license costs would simply be too high. According to the internal source, you must sell 20 percent more units in order to achieve the same profit in the end — it’s not worth it.
Thus, the question remains open to what the retreaded DICE team could work in the future. Is it first about bringing Battlefield 2042 on course? Do you already divide Battlefield 6? Is there any time something new from the Swedes? What do you think?
